Wrinkle, Wrinkle, Little Things…
I found my passion in a profession that typically strives to decrease or eliminate the wrinkles on your face. So what I’m about to write will seem quite contradictory, however there is a definite philosophy growing at Face Place that can’t be denied…
Wrinkles Are Your Exquisitely Beautiful Life Story, Written All Over Your Face…
So I ask you… Why would we want to erase them? It would be like erasing your life story. Face Place strives to redefine beauty by leaving the wrinkles unedited. As Mark Twain once said, “Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been”, and we agree.
We understand that as you grow older you don’t want to look dull, tired or old for that matter. And the truth of the matter is, you don’t have to. That is where we come in. You come to us to bring your skin to it’s optimum level of tightness and brightness. And we do just that. But what we do must be maintained by you, so we send you home with a good home care regimen and provide you with a treatment plan to keep your skin looking its best. It shouldn’t stop there. It’s your responsibility to eat right, exercise and be committed to taking care of your skin. We all know it is extremely essential to do those things in order to look and feel our best. More importantly though, we want you to stop looking in the mirror and seeing those wrinkles as ugly flaws that need to be nipped and tucked, but rather appreciate and honor them.
I once read somewhere that age should not have its face lifted, it should teach the world to admire wrinkles as the etchings of experience and the firm line of character. Of course we want to soften and decrease the appearance of wrinkles when they cause us to look tired and decrepit. There are certainly many ways to achieve that at Face Place, but we do so in a way that celebrates them. We embrace them with gracious acceptance of their existence, and treat them with gentle care so as to enhance your appearance without distorting or altering your face.
I’d love for our beloved clients to receive a message from the following words of a very popular song, by a really adorable new boy band! ; )
It’s the little things that make us who we are and we are lovable in every sense of the word. So lets spend more time embracing and taking care of the little things and stop trying to eliminate them. Because I guarantee, without them we would most definitely be old and decrepit. With them, we are interesting and extraordinary.
